Welcome to the
Southwest GA Community Policing Resource Center
Right from our inception, we have made significant efforts to support local law enforcement agencies with how they connect with their communities through our community policing programs. Community policing is more than a single officer or even a division—it is a leadership philosophy. Gaps happen when law enforcement isn’t connected to the communities they serve. This is why we exist! We provide the resources to address challenges that law enforcement agencies face when they want try to connect with their communities. We turn barricades into bridges of hope.
Together we can build a sustainable community for the future!
Driving inspiration with charitable acts
We’re out to inspire our local communities! One simple action can be what’s required to spark up a chain reaction of positive events that transforms how communities engage with law enforcement.
We are dream builders & we don’t falter
From offering adults an opportunity to obtain a high school diploma to supplying free household goods or school supplies to kids in need, we put in a total commitment towards building the dreams of our local community.
We can change the world one family at a time
There’s a family out there who has fallen through the cracks and needs just a little support. We are stronger together. Everything that we need to save our community is within our community.
How we support our community
We run several community based programs that not only change lives in the present but impact families for generations.
Some of our programs include:
Backpack with a Cop
The backpack with a cop program improves the schooling experience for kids. We make available a backpack filled with school supplies like glue, pencils, rulers, erasers, and several other learning materials necessary for an optimal experience.
In 2019, we delivered over 150 backpacks & we’re ready to do more!
Chiefs’ Diploma Program
We collaborate with local law enforcement agencies to offer an alternative diploma program into their community policing initiatives or within their re-entry program. This program offers participants a chance to not only obtain a high school diploma but also to further their education by attending local technical colleges such as South Georgia Technical College, Central Georgia Technical College, and Athens Technical College
Christmas with a Cop
The joy Christmas brings to every child is immeasurable. It’s a season of love and giving, and children always have their hopes high during this period. Sadly, Santa doesn’t reach every child in the neighborhood. But patrol cars with blue lights flashing do! We kicked off this program to help parents to throw a little light into the world of their kids and create a blissful celebration for everyone. To us, delivering toys on Christmas never gets old and we have the entire community at our back. New toys are delivered to the Community Policing Resource Center all year and there are toys specially packaged for every age–including teens up to 18.
The Cops Closet
Inside the police department, we operate what many describe as a room of hope. We have over 700 square feet of numerous essential items like clothes, small appliances, tools, and food.
Officers refer families to the closet and families who just need a little help can get what they need at no cost without feeling like they are taking a hand out. Every item in the store are donated from corporate partnerships with major retailers through Good360.
Community policing isn’t a single program—it is an operational philosophy.
We can drive the right change, But we can’t do this without you!
